This documentary explores the 'jazzy' life of Gretchen Carhatt Valade, a businesswoman who has made an indelible mark on Detroit's jazz scene, as well as around the world. Valade is a Board member and founder of Mack Avenue Records and sits on the Board of the renowned International Detroit Jazz Festival. She is also head of the famed Carhatt Clothing company. The film captures Valade's spirit and wit and explores her life through interviews with the people who know her best, including her son, business partner, and numerous musicians. In order to best tell her story, the film incorporates rare, vintage photos and footage of fabulous jazz performances.
